OMGoodness! I can't believe…

that it’s been over a month since I’ve updated my page! The week after my last post, I left for Orlando and a weekend with the girls at Disney’s Contemporary Resort for the Annual Scrapper’s Dream Vacation (SDV) . What fun we had, but taking two days off of work put me behind! There have been so many meetings and other committments that many (if not most) of my planning periods have been booked. Therefore, I’ve had to spend most of my free time working on grading papers and lesson plans. Busy, busy, busy…and NOT with scrapbooking or stamping…sad to say (except one layout).

So let me start with the fun stuff….SDV!! We all purchased the early bird deluxe package and were to check in on Thursday, but Stacy came up with the brilliant idea to checkin in on Wednesday and then just chill on Thursday. That brilliant idea to check in early also allowed us to have our room upgraded our room to the A-frame. In all the years we have been going to SDV, we’ve never been able to stay in the A-frame. We were on the east side of the building and had an absolutely gorgeous view of the lake and the pool!

We also enjoyed drinks on the balcony…could it get any better?

As if I wouldn’t spend enough at SDV (or WDW), on Thursday, Theresa and Stacy introduced me to IKEA! I had never ever been there and now I can’t wait to go back. My daughter is wanting to redo her Princess Pink bedroom (she’s almost 14) into something more sophisticated. I took tons of pictures to show her when I got back home and kept saying, “I wish Hannah was here.” I was pretty good…no real big purchases…but did manage to spend about $80.

Thursday afternoon, after IKEA, we hopped on the monorail (which runs right through the center of the Contemporary) and intended to stop at all the other resorts on the route….the Polynesian Resort and The Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

However, the late afternoon timing wasn’t good. So many people were leaving the Magic Kingdom with their little kids (and strollers), that we couldn’t get a seat. So we decided to get of at the Polynesian Resort and stay awhile. This resort is so cool! I’ve stayed at the Contemporary, the Grand Floridian and the Wilderness Lodge, but never the Polynesian. I think I’m going to have to remedy this one day…sooner rather than later.

Friday morning we began the 54 hours of non-stop, uninterrupted scrapping time (of course, we didn’t actually scrap that long). I took tons of stuff to work on, but then found myself drawn to kits that vendors were selling. I don’t know how I manage to fall into that trap EVERY year. The kits allow me to scrap and not have to think so hard. However, it’s funny how I can still manage to take a couple of hours putting one together, as I tend to change this and change that, add this and add that. Worse still, is I only managed to put photos on ONE layout!! So, that’s what I’m going to work on next, adding photos to the layouts I did make. Once I complete them, I’ll scan them and add them here.
