August's Stamp of the Month…"Baroque Borders"

Welcome to the CTMH Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!
August’s 2012’s Stamp of the Month is called…..
****Baroque Borders****
The blog hop makes a circle so if you are starting here just continue until you make your way back and you will have made it through them all.  If you have already started and are coming from Melissa Laverty’s blog, “Fancy Melissa”then you are on the right track.

I love this month’s Stamp of the Month set, because it’s the type of stamps set that can be used on just about anything. I chose to use of the smaller stamps to create a tone-on-tone background using smoothie cardstock and ink. I used the larger stamp (with the straight lines) to create another tone-on-tone piece with bamboo cardstock and ink.

After stamping the dancer on the colonial white, I knew that I wanted something to fill in the empty space, so after trying several different stamps and ink colors, I finally decided on the music note background from Universal Background stamps (one of my fave, go-to stamp sets) and bamboo ink.  Finally, I stamped another dancer, trimmed, and adhered with foam tape.

The above ribbon technique was inspired by a card created by my upline Sherri Tozzi.  I learn so much from her.
The banner is from a new Dimensional Elements set called Awards.  The set has some other really cute banner shapes and they all coordinate with the new Close To My Heart exclusive Cricut Artiste Collection.
Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Paper:  Smoothie CSColonial White CS, Bamboo CS, Cocoa CS

Embellishments: Dark Chocolate Striped Grosgrain RibbonMocha Opaque Gems, Awards Dimensional Elements
Other: Make It from Your Heart Vol. 1, Edge DistresserFoam Tape, SpongeMicro-tip ScissorsPaper Trimmer, ATG Adhesive (Scotch)

Here’s a look at the entire stamp set.

I used pattern #25 in the new How-to Book from Close To My Heart called “Make It from Your Heart”, available August 1st, 2012.

I used this week’s CR84FN Color Challenge for inspiration.

And don’t forget, this gorgeous Damask tote is available for free when you become a Close To My Heart consultant in August.  The tote is only available while quantities last, so don’t wait long.  However, the unbelievable price of $49 will stay.  If you would like to learn more you can check out my post and video here.

Remember, if you love what you’ve seen so far along your SOTM Blog Hop journey, and you want your own “Baroque Border” stamp set or want to get it for the amazingly low price of $5, be sure to contact your Close To My Heart Independent Consultant.  If you don’t already have a consultant, I’d love to be yours.  You can find details on the “Stamp of the Month” by clicking on the “Promotions” tab at the top of the page or purchase your SOTM here.  Of course, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
If you have time, take a moment or two to check out the rest of my blog.  If you enjoy your visit, then please consider “Following Me”, signing up to receive blog updates, and/or leaving a comment (we all love comments…the nice ones anyway), then be sure to continue along on the hop by heading over to  Debra Van Patten’s blog, “Memories of the Heart” and check out her project.
If for some reason you get lost along the way, you can always find a list of all this month’s CTMH SOTM Blog Hop participants on Kathleen’s blog.

Happy hopping!

I think this is just lovely – I know she's a dancer, but she could equally be a gymnast! Thanks for playing along with CR84FN this week!
