I cut the scalloped mat using the NEW Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge…do I ever love that thing…and adhered it to my 6×6 chocolate card base. I then sponged Chocolate ink on a 5×5 square of patterned paper (from the NEW Elemental Level 2 Paper Pack) and adhered it to the scalloped piece. Next, I squeezed my chocolate ink pad so that excess ink puddled on the inside of the lid, picked the ink up with a waterbrush and flicked the watery ink onto my 2×6 piece of Kraft cardstock. Using mini glue dots to keep the thin piece of NEW sorbet ribbon centered on the colonial white grosgrain ribbon, I wrapped the ribbon ends around the edge of the kraft piece and adhered to the card base. The bow portion is actually a separate piece of ribbon, simply tied around the adhered ribbon. I stamped the wreath from the NEW stamp set “Remarkable Wreath” in chocolate on a 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ square of colonial white cardstock, followed by the flowers stamped in sorbet ink and the sentiment, also in chocolate. I also sponged the edges of a 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ piece of sorbet cardstock with chocolate ink then distressed the edges, before adhering the sentiment piece (which is also sponged in chocolate) to it. This piece was then adhered to the base with foam tape. For the final embellishments, I threaded colonial white waxy flax through the NEW sorbet buttons and adhered them with mini glue dots, then added bitty sparkles to some of the flowers on the sentiment piece.
Inks: Chocolate, Sorbet
Embellishments: Designer Ribbon Red Collection, Colonial White Grosgrain Ribbon, Bitty Sparkles, Buttons Red Assortment, Colonial White Waxy Flax
Other: Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge, Edge Distresser, Micro-tip scissors, Sponge, 3D Foam Tape, Tombow Mono Adhesive, bone folder, mini glue dots, waterbrush medium, 6×6 Envelope
To finish off the card, I created a coordinating envelope, too. I inked the edges with chocolate and stamped the wreath and flowers off the edge (same ink colors) using both first generation and second generation.
Even though my card isn’t a truly original idea…I really enjoy taking a card I love out of the Idea Book…recreating it…and changing elements to make it my own. The idea book is truly that….an IDEA book…not just a catalog. If you would like your own, simply email me. If you are local, you can get one for free. If you’re not local, simply pay $4.95 for shipping…the Idea Book is free.
If you have time, take a moment or two to check out the rest of my blog. If you enjoy your visit, then please consider “Following Me” and/or leave a comment (we all love comments…the nice ones anyway), then be sure to continue along on the hop by heading over to Romaine Rancier’s blog, “Bumbles n’ Bees” and check out her creation.

Agh on the kids draining the battery! Sounds like something that mine would do! I will be back to see; I always like your work!
