Right now the challenge at Heart 2 Heart is to use a stamp that you haven’t used before.  I was actually pleasantly surprised to find that most of my stamp sets have been used…a reminder of the important role that Close To My Heart has had in my life, in terms of getting me to actually use my supplies and create.  I have drawers and drawers full of wood-mounted stamps that I collected over the past 15 years, but rarely used.  I’ve sold many of them on eBay and have some on Etsy right now (with plans to add more), yet I still have drawers full.  Thankfully thought, since being part of CTMH, I actually use my supplies.  I take part in challenges, create for my workshops and open houses, and most importantly, I create for myself!
My hope for you…that you too take the time to create for yourself.  Really, it’s the most important reason.

I used sketch 223 from Mojo Monday for this card, but didn’t submit it in time. 😦

I used my Art Philosophy cartridge to cut the two doily shapes.  I really need a new blade, so because the shape is so detailed, I selected multi cut on my Cricut so that it would go over the shape a second time.  It really made a difference.

To create the cameo, I gold embossed the frame on cocoa cardstock and used a craft blade to trim it out.    I probably should have gone back and sponged ink along the edges…but I’ll live. 🙂  I then inked the cameo in Petal and then rolled the edges in Smoky Plum ink and stamped on Colonial White cardstock.  After adhering the two pieces together, I added a thick layer of Liquid Glass to create some dimension and make it more jewelry looking.
