February's Paper Trail Blog Hop

The blog hop makes a circle so if you are starting here just continue until you make your way back and you will have made it through them all.  If you are coming from Terri Howard’s blog, “My Frame of Mind”, then you are on the right track.

I only discovered this blog hop a few months ago (don’t ask me where I’ve been), but I can tell you this, the caliber of work these ladies produce and share each month is always impressive.  So when I was informed that this group of ladies had voted to accept me as a guest artist this month….well, to say I was honored would be an understatement.  I only hope I can do their group justice.

And to Betsy, Vickie, Karen, Terri, Lynne, Pam, Linda and Connie….THANK YOU for letting me join you this month!

This month…anything goes.  So I decided to make something that I don’t make very often…card sets.  I love card sets, so I’m not sure why I don’t do them more often.  I also decided to use Sonoma papers for this set.  Also not sure why…but I noticed I’ve been making a lot of things with Sonoma papers lately.  I think I just enjoy the tones of this paper line…subtle, sophisticated, and vintage-e.  I hope you like it.

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):

The fringe was a happy accident.  I actually had put the Cocoa grosgrain on all four cards.  When I created the box and used the striped grosgrain, I decided that I wanted to tie the box and cards together (visually) by using the striped grosgrain on a couple of the cards.  My first attempt I didn’t care for…too big.  So I decided to cut the ribbon in half length-wise.  I wanted to fray them slightly, because I just love frayed ribbon.  But one thing lead to another and after a few minutes of playing, I really liked the result and thought “I’ve got to use this!”  Kinda’ cool, huh?  Here’s a photo tutorial to show you how I did it.
