February's SOTM Blog Hop – Thoughtful Tidings

Welcome to the CTMH Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!
February 2012’s Stamp of the Month is called…..
****Thoughful Tidings****

The blog hop makes a circle so if you are starting here just continue until you make your way back and you will have made it through them all.  If you have already started and are coming from Sheila Bennett’s blog, “Sheila’s Stamping Stuff”then you are on the right track.

My first card was inspired by this week’s challenge over at CASE Study Challenge (Challenge #75) and the color combo at The Play Date Cafe (#PDCC116) of plum, pear and….moldy cheese?  I skipped the moldy cheese and used Indian Corn Blue instead. 😉

The sentiment “Consider Yourself Hugged” kept calling me.  It brought to mind how people use parenthesis around the word “hug” to convey a digital embrace, like in an email or message board.  So inspired by the clean and simple design at CASE Study, I decided to try one myself.  Here’s what I came up with.  What do you think?

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Stamps Used: Thoughful Tidings, Polka Dot Alphabet
Inks: Black, Smokey Plum, Garden Green, Indian Corn Blue
Embellishments: Bitty Sparkles
Other: 3D Foam TapePaper Trimmer, Bone Folder, Tape Runner (3M – ATG)

I wanted to make an additional card since the first was so simple.  Besides, when looking for inspiration for the first card, I came across some other past challenges that inspired me.  The first one was the color inspiration at CR84FN Color Challenge and a mixed pattern paper challenge at Embellish Magazine.
I had intended for the card to also be clean and simple, but like so often, I just have to add one more thing, or maybe two or three. 🙂 So I don’t think it’s very simple, but I think it would qualify for clean, as I managed not to ink anything other than the butterfly. LOL

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Paper: White Daisy CS, Grey Wool CS, Lucy B&T, Sweetheart B&T (Retired), Zippidee B&T (Retired)

I also used this stamp set in my Heart 2 Heart design team inspiration project.  It’s a pail that has been altered into a teacher appreciation gift container.  Imagine it filled with chocolates and a gift card.  You can find additional photos and details about it here.
Here’s a look at the entire stamp set.

You’ll notice red lines around some of the images.  These indicate coordinating shapes on the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge.  What you don’t see here is something else that is on the set’s carrying sheet…the size of the image.  For example, next to the “You Touch So Many Lives” image, it reads 2 1/4″.  So when you cut the coordinating shape, you simply cut it at 2 1/4″ and the stamped image will fit perfectly.  How great is that?!

Remember, if you love what you’ve seen so far along your SOTM Blog Hop journey, and you want your own “Thoughful Tidings” stamp set or want to get it for the amazingly low price of $5, be sure to contact your Close To My Heart Independent Consultant.  If you don’t already have a consultant, I’d love to be yours.  You can find details on the “Stamp of the Month” here on my blog, or by clicking on the “Stamp of the Month” tab at the top of the page or by clicking on the “Shop with Me” link near the top right.  Of course, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

If you have time, take a moment or two to check out the rest of my blog.  If you enjoy your visit, then please consider “Following Me”, signing up to receive blog updates, and/or leaving a comment (we all love comments…the nice ones anyway), then be sure to continue along on the hop by heading over to  Angel Sawyer’s blog, “Running with Scissors Design Co.” and check out her creation.

If for some reason you get lost along the way, you can always find a list of all this month’s CTMH SOTM Blog Hop participants on Kathleen’s blog.

Happy hopping!
