The challenge over at Heart 2 Heart this week is called “Lucky to Have You”, where the challenge is to make a project for someone telling them how lucky you are for having them in your life. Participants are encouraged to step it up by using the color green.
This was a tough challenge for me, as I don’t believe in luck. I believe that all good things are blessings from God. So I was perplexed in what I could make that would hold true to my beliefs, but meet the challenge presented to me at H2H. So here’s what I came up with. What do you think?

| I created the sentiment by first using my Gypsy to hide all the lines on the clover tag (Cricut Art Philosophy, page 50), except the clover itself. This way my Expression would only cut the clover. I used the clover as a mask and sponged the Colonial White cardstock with Sweet Leaf, Garden Green and Topiary inks. I then lightly wrote in the word “Luck” with pencil (since I didn’t have any stamps to do what I envisioned in my head) and then went over it with my Chocolate Marker. Finally, I used my Tiny Typewriter Alphabet set to customize the remainder of the sentiment, stamping it in Chocolate ink.
The ribbon was created using Close To My Heart’s new Color-ready seam binding. Not having worked much with dying ribbon, I just kind of played around with it using Sweet Leaf refill ink. First, I put the ribbon in a ziplock bag and added the ink. I then rinsed the ribbon out right away and it washed most of the ink away, leaving kind of a yellow-green hue. So I scrunched the wet ribbon in my hand and added the refill ink directly to the ribbon, but in spots, scrunching continually. I again rinsed and scrunched and added ink again, squeezing out any extra moisture, before leaving it to dry overnight. The result wasn’t really what I was originally aiming for, nor was it what I expected, but I really like the how it turned out. I look forward to playing around with this ribbon a lot more. |

| Again, I had to customize my sentiment, so I used the same writing and stamping techniques that I used for the front panel sentiment. It was actually kind of fun to make my own sentiment. |
