Time for another challenge over at Heart 2 Heart! This week is one of my favorite kinds of challenges….SKETCHES! Prior to sketches, the majority of the time I spent on a project was planning it. How will I lay out the design? Where to put this photo and where to put that sentiment? Sometimes the trouble planning would prevent me from creating anything at all! Sometimes, now I don’t need any help. However, whenever I’m struggling with a project or need to get my creative mojo flowing, I look for a sketch.
The sketch this week is perfect for a card, but I chose to modify it for a scrapbook page. If you’ve followed my blog for awhile, you know that I don’t do too many single page layouts. I am definitely a two-page kind of gal. However, there was a story that I wanted to preserve, so I knew this sketch would be perfect for documenting it.
Here is my layout and the sketch is below.
The front of the journaling tag reads…

| I created the title by a technique that I learned from my upline, Sherri Tozzi’s blog. I simply stamped on the Dimensional Elements with a swirl stamp and then went over the swirls with liquid glass, covering not only the stamped image, but also some of the surround white areas. After the liquid glass dries, simply sponge ink colors onto the letters, starting with the lightest color first. Lastly, wipe off the residual ink and voila! |

What an awesome layout! LOVE that smile–you can't help but smile just looking at it! And the glasses are great–particularly that he doesn't want to take them off (sure beats the alternative!) Blessings, Sharon

I LOVE this layout – love the color combos (in fact I'm working with this dotted paper right now for a layout) and will be 'scooping' some ideas from this. Keep the great inspiration coming!
