I had so many great plans for my Thanksgiving break, but as it seems to often be the case, life had other plans for me. After spending Tuesday on a field trip at Disney Quest with around 250 eigth graders, I came home exhausted and virtually collapsed as soon as I entered my house. Even though I was tired, I was excited to have the next five days off. I had planned on getting caught up with some CTMH projects, housework and yes, even school-related work. However, I woke up Wednesday with a sore throat and have spent most of my time off sick in bed. 😦 Today, I managed to pull myself out of bed…mostly because my back was killing me…and completed my artwork for this post.
I struggled a bit with my project, partly because I’m still sick and partly because I’ve been out of the creative loop for a while. However, I used this week’s Mojo Monday sketch as a starting point for my card. My first instinct was to use the Baby Cakes paper line, but I wanted to use something a little less predictable, so I chose to go with the blues and tans in the Frosted paper line. I used three of the stamps to create a background paper using Champagne and Slate (second generation) and paper pieced the Baby Carriage stamp for my focal image.
